Sorry. No correct answers yet. This is indeed difficult. It is someone I do not know much about. But having seen more of her work, I'd like to know more.
Let's see. She did a lot of work in the 60s and 70s including some magazine covers for a left of center publication.
Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!. Janet Halverson it is. I do not know much about her but she did produce a lot of covers and seems to be a link between 60s/Pushpin/C&G and 70s/Paul Bacon. She also did a ton of Harper's covers in the 1960s. Here's a link to some more work: http://bit.ly/fqjGRm
Anyone know anything else about her?

Is it Olle Eksell by chance? A friend of mine was just showing me one of his books the other day. Lots of Bodoni with Paul Rand-ish playfulness.
ReplyDeleteNot Olle Eksell. Good guess though!
ReplyDeleteHow about Elaine Lustig

OK. You can cheat. but you still won't get it.
ReplyDeleteAnne Rand?
ReplyDeleteNeither Anne Rand nor Ayn Rand. This will take some digging.
ReplyDeleteAfter spending far too long on google, I've determined this challenge impossible.
