  2. Growing up, I remembered a phone book we had. It was huge. The largest and densest book I had ever seen in my young life. A square hunk of a book with a brown cover and a Winslow Homer painting on the front, "Snap the Whip." A row of boys playing on a field. Growing up in the city, I didn't see much farms. I wanted to be there. In that painting. Having fun in the Summer. Probably the first time I experienced that a book cover design could transport me to a place I wanted to be.

I couldn't finding the telephone book. But here's the painting:

  3. H3NR7, Odd choice of painting for a city phone book. Most of phone books seem to use either geographically correct imagery or generic telephone imagery.

Perhaps its my proximity to the place, but the photo of the off-the-hook phone on the Newark book makes me think there's a dead body lying next to it. I like Vegas 75 too.

  7. Around '76-'80, Rochester had a nice colorful cover -- hot air balloons shot from a chopper circling them!

However, the next thing you new, every local business, especially car dealers, had TV ads shot from a circling chopper.

  10. Thanks for share this post I also share with you something hope you like my post. Keep your proof of purchase - Nokia and Samsung offer 24 month manufacturers warranty on their handsets, but reduced warranty times on accessories. Do not attempt a DIY repair. If a phone shows evidence that it has been dismantled the warranty will be void. Don’t get liquid or moisture near your phone. FoneFix are unable to repair liquid damage phones. Regularly back up your data – During the repair process, any data stored on the handset will be lost. We therefore recommend that you regularly back up any content to a PC or memory card. Contacts can also be saved to the sim card. Physical damage such as cracked LCD is not covered by the manufacturers warranty and will be subject to a chargeable repair. Thanks
