    Jason was/is really into Alain Robbe-Grillet (he has a signed Frisbee by him). He contacted me about collaborating on some covers for his books that we would then pitch to the publisher.

    This is not an approach I would usually take and do not recommend to anyone (as in, please don't send me redesigns of books that we already publish at Vintage/Anchor). But I saw it as an interesting design project with no set parameters and a chance to work with Jason

    Needless to say the publisher liked the designs but wasn't interested in repackaging. We still think a Robbe-Grillet moment is just around the corner.
